What Doesn't Kill You Can Still Make You Crazy

As you can tell, I am an advocate of the power of positive thinking... oh wait, I meant to say that I am an advocate of the power of eating Girl Scout cookies when you feel crazy to make things seem positive, yes I think that is it!

So it has been another month since I have posted, funny how that happens. So our daughter is mostly working, as is our computer, but the bank is working out the best of all. It took me about two months to finally get all the banking squared away, with opening new accounts and setting up the bill pay, and ordering checks, and installing new software because I thought it was time to upgrade, etc. I love having everything automated, but I forgot what a pain it is to get everything automated, especially when your computer is dying a slow and painful death. I also forgot what a pain it was to live without a computer!

The daughter has been harder to fix, she improved for a while, and is struggling again. After many phone calls, Sierra is scheduled for a scope next Tuesday, which I am hoping will provide an answer and put an end to her suffering, and my anxiety of trying to figure out how to help her. She has done a good job of keeping up with school though, which has not been easy.

Emma is doing well. She rocked her reading test, ending up fifth in her class, and has practiced enough that triple digit addition "is easy!" She had some scary asthma attacks with a bout of strep, but in typical Emma fashioned, moved ahead and landed her first loop jump in skating four days later.

Kate turned five last month!!! We celebrated all day long, with treats at gymnastics, treats at preschool, a party at Teddy Bear Builders after school, dinner at Noodles, and cake before bed. I was exhausted, but the kid had literally been planning her birthday everyday for the last seven months, so I had to oblige. She was equally excited for Leprechaun Day yesterday, wearing head to toe green and spent much of the afternoon trying to trap leperchauns with a friend.

I celebrated my birthday this month, and it was fantastic. The night before Rob took me out to Tepanyaki, always great. And I have learned that nobody knows what I want as well as moi, so the next day I treated myself to what I was hoping for- a new purse, a trip to the spa, and a new book, how did I know? I topped it off with dinner out with the family, phone calls with family and a weekend at the cabin with the Duncans where we had chocolate cheesecake, went sledding, and played pool.

Only been one month and this post sounds like a Christmas letter, sad! My big birthday wish is to have a boring year. We'll see how that works out...

Don't ask me how I ended up finding your blog because I can't remember the trail to save my life!! Maybe it was by way of holly by way of cami by way of jen by way of who knows who else...but imagine my surprise to stumble upon you and your beautiful family! (Lots of blog reading happens when my hubby is gone in the evenings and the kids are in bed) I'm not a looney tune...it's me, Jhona (Hampton). So fantastic to find you in blog land.
