Despite the fact that we have had almost constant rain, it is actually spring! I don't mind the rainy weather much, and I love how green everything is because of it, but I am happy to report that it is mostly sunny at the moment!
The signs of spring at our house, besides the tulips and lilacs, are the inaugual game of mini golf, the first s'mores of the season, and of course, the Spring Ice Show. This year the theme was A Night At the Movies. Emma's group was the munchkins from the Wizard of Oz. She had a great time, as always, and was ready to perform more than the three nights. After spending five nights in a row at the ice rink with the dress rehersals, I was ready to be done! Emma performed a loop jump and a sit spin for the first time in her spotlight, and did an awesome job. I wish I had her nerves of steel! Both of her grandpas were able to come, and our neighbors, which she was so happy about.
Sierra made it back to school full time this spring too, although not without difficulty, as she has had to deal with nerve pain after surgery and loads of homework. She has been improving a lot very recently though, in large part because we found a great acupunturist. Acupuncture has been amazing for her pain, and something I hadn't considered until we reached our utmost limits (her with pain, me with frustration). The upside of all this is that we have spent a lot of time together, at dozens of doctors' appointments, and plowing through the seventh grade curriculum. I am happy to be back up to speed on Punett squares and first year Spanish.
But my favorite part of spring has been the flowers. I love to see the bulbs come up, and was thrilled that five years after planting, my lilac bush finally, finally bloomed! I have tons of yardwork ahead, which I never seem to get to, but that is spring!

Yea spring flowers! Love the pictures.
I remember when Emma first began skating and you told me she wasn't sure about sticking with it (lots of hard work...) But, I'm amazed at what she can do now! And, I suppose when you have an activity that requires 5 dress rehearsals and 3 performances, it is probably something you are pretty good at doing!
And...what is Kate doing in the tub? :)
Your flowers are gorgeous! Sus you are a great mom and gardener! That is so cool that Emma is such an advanced little skater!! Glad to hear Sierra's on the mend. Catalina will be baptized in SLC on August 7 (9AM?). Hope you guys can make it!! More info to come...
Kate actually spent the night in the tub... with plenty of padding...I moved her in the middle of the night, but by morning she was right back in the tub! And you probably won't read this here but we wouldn't miss Catalina's baptism!
That is too funny. The tub might be the last place I'd want to sleep in my house! But, hey, if she's actually sleeping...
