Here's the final summer report. The last trips, the last days to sleep in, swim, and ignore the rest of the world. Here was the itnerary-
#1 trip with extended family to California. We had a blast swimming in the hotel pool, playing in the ocean, and spending a marathon 16 hour day at Disneyland! Best quote of the trip goes to Kate, after her first trip to the ocean, "It was cold, I have sand in my hair, and the water has SALT in it!!!" Before she tried to get her money back, she warmed up to the ocean, and came to love it.
#2- I went on a solo trip to see Leann which was fabulous. We talked more than slept and had a great time. Quote of the trip, from the lady who gave us pedicures, "I've thought about it, and no one will be offended if they read your toes upside down." (She painted the character for harmony on them).
#3- Sierra went on trek. The child who could barely get out of bed a few months ago, pulled a handcart almost 25 miles in three days! A huge victory. She did nearly fall asleep at the dinner table the night she came home though. Quote when Sierra arrived home, "I don't have to keep these clothes, do I?"
#4- Lake Powell. After I roused Sierra from the table, literally right after, I drove her to the airport to meet Rob in Vegas, where he was on business. They drove to Lake Powell and spent a week camping with Jeff, and others. They came home with only about six pictures, so I have no idea what they did really, but I was impressed with the giant Buddha complex they found made out of sand at their campsite. Best text from the trip, "Just wanted you to know there's a big charge on the credit card from when the axel broke off the boat trailer, while the boat was on it..."
#5- While they were at Powell, the little girls came with me and our neighbors to the cabin for an all girls trip. Oh, peace and quiet! No traffic, no cell service, no email, no responsibilities! I was in heaven. We did some school shopping, hiking, eating, four wheeling, watched movies, slept... how I wish I could go back now! I really think I could be a hermit up there forever. Quote of the trip, from me to Emma, "I will pay you five dollars if you can get that squirrel out of the trash can!" Which, bless her heart, she did.
Moral of this long rambling story: I may never be caught up on my laundry again.

Yea! Love it when I make the blog!
Also, if there weren't water-based activities, what would you family do? :)
Great pictures! What a fun summer. It's almost like you actually have a life. What's that like?
I love all those quotes. I'd go back now, too. And the laundry! I feel your pain!
